1. What we collect
Anonymous visitors (no account)
If you use the site without signing in, the calculators run locally in your browser. We don't capture the numbers you enter or the results you generate. The only data that reaches our servers is the usual web-server access log (your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and a timestamp) which is kept short-term for security and reliability.
Registered users
When you create an account we store:
- Username (your choice — 3-40 letters, digits, _ . -)
- Display name (letters, digits and spaces)
- Password stored as a bcrypt hash — we cannot read your plain password
- Account flags (created/updated timestamps, premium flag)
- Favorites — the tool IDs you star
- Budget tracker entries — categories, amounts, dates, and any comments you add
We do not require or collect your email address or any other personally identifying information.
Feedback form
If you submit the feedback form, your message and any optional contact details you provide are stored so we can read and respond. We also log the page you submitted from, your user-agent string, and your IP for spam triage. We do not publish anything you submit.
2. How we use it
- To run the features you asked for — sign-in, favorites, the budget tracker.
- To prevent abuse (rate-limiting registration and feedback submissions by IP).
- To respond to feedback you submit.
We do not profile you, build a marketing database, or train AI models on your data.
3. Cookies and local storage
my-calculator.app does not set tracking cookies. Your browser local storage (a different mechanism from cookies) holds:
- Your theme choice (light / dark)
- Your sign-in token after you authenticate
- A cached copy of your favorites list, recently used tools, and any unsent feedback (so it isn't lost if the server is briefly unreachable)
You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings; doing so signs you out and forgets your local cache.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We serve ads through Google AdSense to fund free use of the site. Google may set its own cookies and use device identifiers to show ads. Per Google's policies:
- Google uses cookies and identifiers to serve ads based on prior visits to this site and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads.
- Visit aboutads.info to opt out of personalized advertising from many participating providers.
EU/EEA/UK visitors will see a Google-provided consent banner the first time they arrive, in line with the EU User Consent Policy.
5. Analytics
We don't run third-party analytics like Google Analytics. We use minimal server-side logs only for operational purposes.
6. Sharing with third parties
We don't sell, rent, or share your personal data. The only third parties that receive data are:
- Our hosting provider — handles the server traffic delivering pages to you.
- Google AdSense — for ad serving on the pages you view (described above).
- Government or legal authorities — only if compelled by a valid legal request.
7. Data retention & deletion
- Server access logs — kept up to 30 days, then deleted.
- Account data — kept until you delete your account.
- Favorites & budget entries — kept until you delete them individually or delete your account.
- Feedback messages — kept until we close out the request, then archived for product history.
To delete your account and all associated data, send a request from the feedback form using the username on the account. We'll remove it within 7 days.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA in California, similar laws elsewhere) you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct or update inaccurate data
- Delete your account and personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these, use the feedback form and we'll respond within 30 days.
9. Children
my-calculator.app is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has registered an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy in a material way, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and, if you have an account, surface a notice on your next visit. Past versions are kept in our public source history.
